Background Information

The General Services Department is requesting approval from Commission to award RFB No. 2018-14 to install the Flexi-Pave walking paths at Pine Park. This is the first City Park facility that will utilize the Flexi-Pave product which is an environmentally-friendly, porous, clean and flexible surface that utilizes recycled tires and other materials. In addition to these features, Flexi-Pave is ADA compliant and a low-maintenance material. This product has been successfully implemented in other parks across the country including Yellowstone National Park. The Pine Park project will utilize 3,540 square feet of the Flexi-Pave product which equates to just over 1,000 recycled tires.

The Pine Park Flexi-Pave Walking Paths project was advertised on October 3, 2017. A Non-Mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on October 11, 2017. Three (3) bids were received, opened and read on November 1, 2017 at 2:00pm. Peak Power Services, Inc, was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $98,608.80.

Based on successful reference checks, the General Services Department recommends award to Peak Power Services, Inc. Upon a 14-day notice, awarded Contractor will be able to begin construction.
