Approve Change Order No. 2 to Work Assignment No. 2017-03 under Continuing Services Agreement No. 2016-23 for CDM Smith, Inc. for the Wastewater Hydraulic Model in the amount of $25,522.00, for the total amount of $125,516.00.

Background Information

In an effort to determine system capacity, improve operational efficiencies, and identify potential operational issues within the City's wastewater collection system, North Port Utilities issued a Request for Letters of Interest for the development of a wastewater system hydraulic model to the Utilities Engineers of Record under Continuing Services Agreement No. 2013-23, which resulted in the issuance of Work Assignment No. 2017-03 to CDM Smith, Inc.

Task 1 of this work assignment included the hydraulic analysis of the US 41 Corridor force main to determine the capacity available to meet the needs of existing customers and future development and evaluate options to increase available capacity in the system. Preliminary findings under this task indicated the potential need for additional infrastructure to increase capacity until the construction of the Southwest Wastewater Treatment Facility (SWWTF) is constructed and operational. It was determined that additional services would be required from CDM Smith, Inc. to ascertain how much additional capacity could be achieved with the additional infrastructure and obtain an engineer's opinion of probable cost.
