Recommended Action
Approve utilization of the City of Punta Gorda, Florida Contract #F2014111/SVC-ASPHREJ/1415 with Pavement Technology, Inc. for rejuvenation of asphaltic concrete surface course roadways for an estimated cost of $278,938.08 and contingency of $21,061.92 for an estimated total of $300,000.00.
Background Information
The City of North Port Department of Public Works has identified 29.15 miles of roads to receive the application of an asphaltic rejuvenating agent in fiscal year 2019. The City of Punta Gorda has granted the City of North Port permission to piggyback their Contract with Pavement Technology, Inc. Please note that Pavement Technology, Inc. has agreed to honor their unit contract price (remained the same since 2015) included in the City of Punta Gorda Contract. The estimated cost is $278,938.08, with a contingency of $21,061.92, for an estimated total of $300,000.00.
The work location will be in the Jeannin Boulevard and Nordendale Boulevard corridors, from south of Price Boulevard to north of Hillsborough Boulevard. Work is anticipated to commence on, or immediately after, May 31, 2019, and shall be completed within 55 calendar days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
While City Ordinance authorizes the City Manager to utilize Piggyback Agreements, the City Manager's Policy requires all procurements exceeding $100,000.00 to be presented to Commission for their consideration.
