Approve the Utilization of the Florida Sheriff's Association & Florida Association of Counties Cooperative Bid FSA16-VEH14.0 to purchase one (1) replacement Excavator for the Department of Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division from GS Equipment, Inc. in the amount of $341,234.00.
Background Information
The Department of Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division has one 2004 Gradall Excavator (CID 70403) that is scheduled for replacement. This determination is based on Fleet Management's replacement policy and recommendation due to the fact the machine is past its useful life criterion, has high operation hours, high life-to-date maintenance and repair costs, the overall condition, and expected reliability.
This machine will be used within the Operations and Maintenance Division for excavating dirt, rock, and debris in ditches, canals, and water control structures, and will be used for other projects where having a boom with telescoping abilities and a low overhead profile is crucial.
GS Equipment, Inc. is an approved vendor under the Florida Sheriff's Association & Florida Association of Counties Cooperative Bid number FSA16-VEH14.0, Spec #45. This contract is made available to local governments and municipal Police and Fire departments within the State for vehicle and equipment acquisition.
