TITLE: Utilize Clay County Agreement Bid 13/14-08, Various Equipment and Amenities for Parks and Playgrounds, for the competitive purchase of field lighting for field three at Butler Park; in an estimated amount of $205,000, project #P18BRL. The FY 2018 adopted project budget is $250,000.
Recommended Action
Approve the utilization of the Clay County Agreement Bid 13/14-08, Various Equipment and Amenities for Parks and Playgrounds, for the competitive purchase of field lighting for field three at Butler Park; in an estimated amount of $205,000, project #P18BRL from Musco Sports Lighting LLC.
Background Information
Through the FY17/18 adopted Capital Improvement Program, Commission approved project #P18BRL in the amount of $250,000 for the purpose of lighting one additional multipurpose field at Butler Park. Staff recommends moving forward lighting field three, using the same field lighting equipment and system as currently in place on field four at Butler Park. This will allow for the new lighting to easily integrate into the lighting controls already in place at this park.
By lighting this additional field, two fields will be available in the evening hours for programming and activities. Without the lighting, play time will be limited. This project expands athletic opportunities by providing much needed additional multipurpose field availability. Upon approval, staff will coordinate the purchase and installation of the field lighting.
