Approved
Project SLA New Vehicle Old Vehicle (CID) Budget Estimated Cost

The Hamilton County Request for Bid and Specifications dated March 2018 will be utilized to purchase one (1) replacement 3000-gallon water tender with a Kenworth T-370 chassis, for the Fire Rescue District. This vehicle will be utilized by staff to supply and pump water for firefighting emergencies. The existing 3000-gallon water tender (CID #70586) is being reassigned to a reserve status facilitating the requirement to have a tanker available at all times.

The estimated cost for the water tender is $242,783.00. The difference between the Hamilton County water tender ($237,500) and our proposed unit is: a larger water pump, different electric swivel water dump and three electric water dumps.

The Fire Rescue District anticipates additional ancillary equipment expenses for this water tender. The purchase and/or installation of ancillary equipment will be issued under separate purchase orders to multiple vendors.

The term 3000-gallon water tender is also known as a 3000-gallon water tanker. Both names, tanker and tender, are universally utilized within the supporting documents in this agenda item.

The Fouts Bros. Inc. quote expires on January 31, 2019.
