Background Information
An amendment to the fiscal year 2019 Non-District budget for additional funding in the estimated amount of $31,235.85 is being requested. The amendment requests $31,235.85 from the Law Enforcement Trust (Forfeiture) Fund to purchase a Ford Transit van for the Police Department.

Ancillary Equipment

The Police Department anticipates additional expenses for the purchase and/or installation of ancillary equipment. This ancillary equipment is required to be installed to prepare the Ford Transit van for the intended purpose as a transport vehicle to deploy officers and Special Response Team Operators during covert and high-risk incidents to a scene for tactical operations throughout the City. The ancillary equipment will be completed by the Fleet Management Division of the Department of Public Works.
The following are the increases to the Non-District Funds:
> Law Enforcement Trust (Forfeiture) Fund: $31,235.85
> Total cost to the Non-District Budget: $31,235.85
Purchasing a new vehicle in fiscal year 2019 would require approval of a budget amendment by the City Commission. Accordingly, staff prepared proposed Ordinance No. 2019-03, amending the Non-District Fiscal Year 2019 Budget to fund the purchase of the Ford Transit van.
