TITLE: A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of North Port, Florida, Amending City Commission Policy No. 2021-05 Related to Commission Meeting Schedules, Notices, and Agendas; Providing for Incorporation of Recitals; Providing for Conflicts; Providing for Severability; and Providing an Effective Date.

Option 1: Approve Resolution No. 2026-R-14 as presented.

* Pros: Adoption clarifies existing procedures, improves readability, and better reflects current administrative practices without changing Commission authority.
* Cons: Adoption provides limited substantive change, as the revisions are primarily administrative and clarifying in nature.

Option 2: Deny Resolution No. 2026-R-14.

* Pros: Not adopting the revisions maintains the existing, formally adopted policy language and structure.
* Cons: Not adopting the revisions retains less clear language and minor ambiguities that the proposed updates are intended to address.

Background Information

The proposed revisions to Policy No. 2021-05 are as follows:

> Clarify and streamline the Policy by simplifying website notice language, specifying that the City Clerk is responsible for both drafting and publishing agendas.
> Broadening the scope of items eligible for the consent agenda.
> Clarifying that either the Petitioner or staff may rebut public comment during public hearings.
