TITLE: Approve the Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Addendum By and Between the City of North Port, Florida, and Chenosa Systems Corporation, Doing Business as ProPhoenix Corporation.
Recommended Action
Option 1: Approve the Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Addendum by and between the City of North Port, Florida, and Chenosa Systems Corporation, doing business as ProPhoenix Corporation.
City Commission Options
Option 1: Approve the Federal Bureau of Investigation CJIS Security Addendum by and between the City of North Port, Florida, and Chenosa Systems Corporation, doing business as ProPhoenix Corporation.
* Pros: Approval of the Addendum will allow the North Port Police Department to maintain requirements for the CJIS Security Policy.
* Cons: Denial of the Agreement would negatively impact the Police Department's ability to meet the required annual training necessary to maintain compliance.
Option 2: Deny the Federal Bureau of Investigation CJIS Security Addendum by and between the City of North Port, Florida, and Chenosa Systems Corporation, doing business as ProPhoenix Corporation.
* Pros: Staff have not identified any foreseeable benefits to denying the Agreement. The CJIS Security Addendum is a mandatory requirement by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
* Cons: Placing the City of North Port and the North Port Police Department in non-compliance with the CJIS Security Policy.
Background Information
This Addendum will allow the North Port Police Department to maintain requirements for the CJIS Security Policy and will be added to the Department's current ProPhoenix Software license and support the Agreement for compliance.
