General Information
The purpose of the item is for the Environmental Advisory Board (EAB) to review and discuss proposed updates to the structure and use of the Environmental Protection Fund. This item was proposed by a regular EAB Member. The discussion will include potential revisions to how Environmental Protection Fund revenues are allocated, long‑term funding considerations for the Natural Resources Division, and proposed percentage distributions for tree planting, land acquisition, and reserve balances.
As part of this discussion, the Board will also consider the City of North Port Environmental Advisory Board Budget Proposal, which outlines a structured approach for the use of the Environmental Protection Fund revenues, the long‑term funding model for the Environmental Department, and recommended planting locations for new trees.
