TITLE:                     A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of North Port, Florida, Authorizing the City Commission to Participate in a Joint Meeting With the Sarasota County Commission to Receive, Discuss, and Act Upon Matters of Mutual Interest; Incorporating Recitals; Providing for Severability; and Providing an Effective Date.

 

 

Recommended Action

 

Adopt Resolution 2025-R-52 as presented.

 

Background Information

 

The Convocation of Governments is a Joint Meeting to be held on January 16, 2026, at the Suncoast Technical College. According to Section 125.001 Florida Statutes, in order for the meeting to occur, a Resolution must be approved by the City Commission. As a result, the City Clerk has drafted Resolution No. 2025-R-52 for the Commission’s review and consideration.

 

Resolution No. 2025-R-52 has been reviewed by the Interim City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
