Approve Change Order No. 1 to Work Assignment 2023-10PW, Stockton Avenue Extension, for Agreement No. 2019-23-09, Continuing Engineering Services, between the City of North Port, Florida, and Johnson Engineering, LLC in the amount of $61,620.00.
Background Information
During the City Commission Regular Meeting held on June 25, 2024, the Commission approved Work Assignment 2023-10PW for the design of the Stockton Avenue Extension project to construct a culvert over the MacCaughey Waterway, improving overall City Connectivity.
The design of this culvert is currently underway. It is anticipated that when the culvert is complete, there will be an increase in traffic on Stockton Avenue and Caballero Avenue. This increase in traffic presents safety challenges to pedestrians using these roadways. Therefore, the Public Works Department is seeking to expand the scope of work to include the addition of a sidewalk along these roads. In addition to improving safety on these roads, the added sidewalk will enhance the pedestrian transportation network, providing an additional pedestrian route between Salford Boulevard and Cranberry Boulevard. The new anticipated completion date is November 11, 2025.
Approval of this change order will bring the total value of Work Assignment 2023-10PW to $398,854.00.
