Background Information
The Department of Public Works is seeking to secure land located on Town Terrace and the MacCaughey Waterway that will provide access for the reconstruction of Water Control Structure (WCS) No.121. The City currently owns a narrow parcel in line with WCS No. 121. However, the construction project footprint exceeds beyond the limits of the City owned parcel. The Department of Public Works is requesting approval to purchase Parcel Identification Number 0989030018, currently owned by Upstate Enterprises, LLC. Adrian Gonzalez & Associates, P.A. completed an appraisal of the property on January 15, 2025, and valued the parcel at $25,000, noting that the land value ranges from $16,200 to $29,000.
An agreement has been reached with Upstate Enterprises, LLC to sell this property to the Road and Drainage District for $29,000.
