TITLE: A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of North Port, Florida, Repealing Resolution No. 2018-R-17 and Adopting Special Event Assistance Program Guidelines; Providing for Incorporation of Recitals; Providing for Conflicts; Providing for Severability; and Providing an Effective Date.

Approve Resolution No. 2025-R-05 as presented.

Background Information

The following provides a chronological order of events regarding the Special Event Assistant Program Guidelines:

> September 11, 2018: During the City Commission Regular Meeting, the Commission adopted Resolution No. 2018-R-17 to formalize the Special Event Assistance Program Guidelines and application. The guidelines cited special event criteria as defined in Chapter 53, Section 53-265 of the Unified Land Development Code.

> August 6, 2024: During the City Commission Special Meeting, the Commission adopted Ordinance No. 2024-13, updating the Unified Land Development Code. However, with the adoption of Ordinance No. 2024-13, the reference to the Special Event Assistance Program Guidelines and application article and section is no longer accurate.

> Resolution No. 2025-R-05 (attached): Repeals Resolution No. 2018-R-17 and adopts the revised Special Event Assistance Program Guidelines referencing the correct Unified Land Development Code article and section. Additionally, minor updates have been made to Exhibit A - Special Event Assistance Program Guidelines to identify the Parks & Recreation Department as being responsible for coordination of the Special Event Assistance Program.

Resolution No. 2025-R-05 has been reviewed by the Interim City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
