TITLE: Resolution of the City Commission of the City of North Port, Florida as the Governing Body of the North Port Road and Drainage District, Authorizing the Purchase of Real Property Located on Hillsborough Boulevard; Described as +/- 0.10950 Acres of Parcel Identification Number 1004018842; and Real Property Located on Hillsborough Boulevard; Described as +/- 0.24273 Acres of Parcel Identification Number 1004018847; Incorporating Recitals; Providing for Filing of Documents; Providing for Conflicts; Providing for Severability; and Providing an Effective Date.


Recommended Action

Approve Resolution No. 2025-R-26 as presented.

Background Information

The Department of Public Works seeks to purchase corner clips of land that secure right-of-way required for the construction for R20HCI Hillsborough/Cranberry Intersection Improvements. The intersection designed for R20HCI is surrounded by undeveloped parcels.

An appraisal has been completed by Hettema Saba, and a purchase price of $70,000 has been negotiated with owner, Tavcore, LLC., for the designated section of Parcel Identification Number 1004018842 and 1004018847.

Resolution No. 2025-R-26 has been reviewed by the Interim City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

Financial Impact

Funding in the amount of $70,000.00 is available in the Fiscal Year 2025 Road and Drainage District Budget, account number 153-5000-541.61-00, Capital Project R20HCI.

Procurement

Purchase of property will be pursuant to Sec.2-403 (a)(3)c of the City of North Port Procurement Code - Real property, real estate brokering, or appraising.
