TITLE: Discussion and Possible Action to Approve the Fourth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.003 for Construction Services Contract Phase II with Ajax Building Company, LLC, in the Amount of $360,730.13, for Repairs to the Lighting in the Open Spaces of the City Hall Campus.
Recommended Action
Approve Fourth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.003 for Construction Services Contract Phase II with Ajax Building Company, LLC, in the amount of $360,730.13, for repairs to the lighting in the open spaces of the City Hall campus.
Background Information
As a result of Hurricane Ian, the City Hall campus sustained damage and requires repairs, including site lighting. Staff continue to work with representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, (FEMA), Rostan Solutions, Inc., and the City insurance provider, Halliwell, to identify reimbursement opportunities for this project.
Upon evaluation of the project, the use of the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) Continuing Services Contract has been identified as the most expedient path to complete this project. The CMaR contracting process includes the following two phases:
> Phase One: The Contractor is selected and issued a Work Assignment for the pre-construction phase. During this portion of the project, the contractor evaluates the work required, obtains quotes from applicable contractors, and develops the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).
> Phase Two: The Fourth Amendment to the CMaR Contract No. 2023-17.003 is for the construction phase of the process.
