It is with extreme pleasure to announce that Chief Todd R. Garrison has been honored with the prestigious William B. Berger Outstanding Chief Executive of the Year Award by the Florida Police Chiefs Association. This esteemed accolade is the highest recognition given to a Chief of Police in Florida, distinguishing one of the more than 400 Chiefs across the state for exceptional performance, leadership, and advancements in the law enforcement profession.
Since assuming leadership of the North Port Police Department in 2018, Chief Garrison has spearheaded significant advancements in hiring practices, technology integration, employee wellness initiatives, and community engagement efforts.
With over three decades of law enforcement experience, Chief Garrison has brought unparalleled dedication and vision to the North Port Police Department. Chief Garrison is an excellent leader and has the steadfast support and dedication of his Command staff, Officers, Telecommunication team and administrative staff. This marks the first time a Police Chief from the City of North Port has received this distinguished award. We are very proud of Chief Garrison for receiving this esteemed award.
