Award Request for Bid (RFB) No. 2024-08 for the Purchase of Calcium Chloride for the City's Water Treatment Plant to Tetra Technologies, Inc. for an estimated annual amount of $130,500.00 and authorize the City Manager to approve renewals in accordance with the terms and conditions in the solicitation.

Background Information

The Southwest Water Treatment Facility utilizes calcium chloride to produce water, which is a different chemical than what is used at the Myakkahatchee Creek Water Treatment Plant. The Southwest Water Treatment Facility was dedicated to the City in March 2023. An informal request for quote was solicited to cover the period between the dedication and the formal solicitation. The following provides a chronological order of events pertinent to RFB Contract No. 2024-08:

> October 10, 2023: RFB 2024-08 - calcium chloride chemicals for the water treatment plants was advertised.
> November 8, 2023: One bid was received and opened.
> Staff reviewed the bid, and the bidder, Tetra Technologies, Inc., was determined to be qualified to provide the product needed.

Based on a review of the bid and submitted references, Utilities recommends the award of the calcium chloride contract to Tetra Technologies, Inc.

The contract resulting from this bid request shall be valid from Commission approval through and including December 31, 2026. This contract may be extended annually for up to two (2) additional one-year terms, with approval from the City Manager.
