Recommended Action

Approve the First Amendment to the Veterans Affairs Drop-In Office Agreement to include Exhibit A - Revocable License for Use of Property Granted to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs by the City of North Port.

Background Information

In November 2022, the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs entered into a Drop-In Office Agreement with the City of North Port Social Services Division for use of space at the Family Service Center. The U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs, through the Sarasota Vet Center, holds Readjustment Counseling services for veterans at the Family Service Center. This service is free to participants and is an important resource for our local veterans.

To remain in compliance with its record keeping and internal audit requirements, the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs requires a Revocable License for Use of Property to be executed. The First Amendment to the Drop-In Office Agreement includes Exhibit A to incorporate the Revocable License for Use of Property.

The First Amendment to the Veterans Affairs Drop-In Office Agreement and Exhibit A - Revocable License are legally correct as to form.
