TITLE:                     Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Projects for State and Federal Legislative Funding Requests for 2024.

Recommended Action

Discussion and direction regarding projects to be submitted for State and Federal legislative funding for 2024.

Background Information

In preparation for the upcoming State and Federal legislative cycle, staff is seeking Commission direction on projects for legislative funding requests. Federal funding requests have more stringent permitting and construction considerations, which adds time to projects.  Any urgent projects or projects nearing design completion should only be considered for State funding.  Staff will not submit more than two projects to each due to competition concerns. Typical State awarded requests are generally under $1 million and Federal requests can be higher at the discretion of Congress.

Some projects for Commission consideration are:

State:

Warm Mineral Springs Water/Sewer or Buildings

                     Fire Station 81 Improvements

                     Water Control Structure Improvements

                     Price Boulevard Widening

Federal:

Police Headquarters (Resubmit only if current application is unfunded.  We will know this fall).

                     Water Control Structure Improvements

                     New I-75 Interchange Feasibility Study
