Recommended Action

Approve the Second Amendment to Agreement No. 2018-40 - Professional Engineering/Architectural Services for Site Selection and Design Services for Utilities Administration and Warehouse Facilities between the City of North Port and Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., for an additional $171,251.50, for a total contract price of $1,367,056.50.

Background Information

> On September 18, 2018, Commission approved Agreement No. 2018-40 - Professional Engineering/Architectural Services for Site Selection and Design Services for Utilities Administration and Warehouse Facilities

> On April 9, 2019, Commission directed staff to pursue the purchase of land identified for the facility on Talon Bay Drive.

> On February 25, 2020, Commission rejected Resolution No. 2020-R-06, authorizing the acquisition of the Talon Bay site, and directed staff to reevaluate properties previously considered.

> On December 7, 2020, Commission directed staff to pursue the purchase of land identified for the facility on Pan American Blvd

> On September 14, 2021, Commission approved Amendment No. 1 for additional time and consulting services needed to pursue the acquisition of the Pan American Blvd site and design and construct the facilities, including due diligence of the new site, revisions to site plan and building design, additional construction phase services, completion of a cultural assessment for the new site and preparation of a Development Master Plan
