Background Information
Request for Bid (RFB) No. 2023-28 was opened on July 14, 2023. Two bidders, Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC., and Preferred Materials, Inc., responded. Preferred Materials, Inc., was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
The following work locations are included in this Contract:
1. Toledo Blade Boulevard Road Rehabilitation Phase I
2. Road Rehabilitation Phase I
a. Ponce De Leon Boulevard I-75 Overpass Phase I
b. Lamarque Avenue
3. Toledo Blade Boulevard Road Rehabilitation Phase II
4. Road Rehabilitation Phase II
a. South Salford Boulevard
All locations listed will be milled and resurfaced. Work on Toledo Blade Boulevard Phases I and II also includes colored stamped concrete, thermoplastic lane lines, pavement symbols, median island nose painting, concrete expansion joint replacement, and median curbing crack repair. The total cost for the Road Rehabilitation Project is $4,397,544.80, plus a contingency of $791,558.06 for a total amount of $5,189,102.86.
Work shall commence on, or immediately following the receipt of the P&P bond and the pre-construction meeting after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed for each project and shall be completed within the set calendar days specified within the Contract.
Contract No. 2023-28, Road Rehabilitation Project with Preferred Materials, Inc., has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
