TITLE: Approve Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Member, Celeste Jameson, to Serve as the City of North Port Representative on the Sarasota County Parks Advisory and Recreation Council.
Recommended Action
Approve Parks and Recreation Advisory Board member, Celeste Jameson, to serve as the representative on the Sarasota County Parks Advisory and Recreation Council.
Background Information
In September of 2022 former Parks and Recreation Advisory Board member James Hersch, was removed from his duties by the City Clerk’s Office due to excessive absence. This left the City of North Port representative to the Sarasota County Parks Advisory and Recreation Council position vacant.
Per Ordinance No. 2014-14, Section 4-162. B.1.d, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board shall recommend to the City Commission a member from the Board to serve as a representative to the Sarasota County Parks Advisory and Recreation Council.
At the March 16, 2023, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Meeting, members nominated Celeste Jameson to serve as the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board representative to the Sarasota County Parks and Recreation Council.
Upon Commission approval, Board member Jameson will complete the required application for the Sarasota County Parks Advisory and Recreation Council and City staff will submit said application to be processed.
