Recommended Action

Approve the Economic Self Sufficiency (ESS) Community Partner Agreement between the City of North Port and the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Background Information

The City of North Port Social Services Division serves as a self-service site and has been an ESS Community Partner for multiple years. This self-service site allows clients to utilize the lobby computers to submit applications as well as check the status of their benefits. In addition, the Social Services staff can assist with faxing applications and supporting documentation directly to DCF on behalf of the clients.

Previously, DCF did not require a partnership agreement to be executed. However, they now require the attached agreement to be approved to continue being a self-service site.

The Economic Self Sufficiency Community Partner Agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
