TITLE:                     Approve the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Supplemental Terms and Conditions for the TraX and VIPER (Virtual Pen Register) Software Subscription in the Annual Amount of $5,897.25.

 

 

Recommended Action

 

Approve the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Supplemental Terms and Conditions for the TraX and VIPER (Virtual Pen Register) software subscription in the annual amount of $5,897.25.

 

Background Information

 

TraX and VIPER is a web-based software system offered through LexisNexis Risk Solutions. It allows police detectives to quickly gather critical investigative data using call detail record analysis. Patterns of live analysis can be conducted to find a subject’s location more quickly and efficiently. The Virtual Pen Register offers a graphic interface that is used to enhance geolocation investigations in real time.

 

The Agreement is for an initial term beginning April 1, 2024 and ending March 31, 2025. It will automatically renew for additional twelve (12) month periods, unless terminated.

 

The LexisNexis Agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

Financial Impact

 

Funding in the amount of $5,897.25 will be utilized from the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 North Port Police Department budget, account number 001-2100-521.46-01, to purchase the software.

 

Procurement

 

Procurement of the software adheres to Section 2-407 of the City of North Port Procurement Code for a Sole Source purchase.
