Approve Work Assignment No. 2024-02 with CDM Smith, Inc. in the amount of $499,850.00, for the North Port Wastewater Master Plan Project.
Background Information
The City of North Port's Wastewater Master Plan was last fully updated in 2015 by Wade Trim. These documents serve as the foundation of wastewater treatment and transmission planning for the City's wastewater system. The Master Plan will provide the foundational document of the City's current wastewater collection and treatment system including an evaluation of current critical equipment and infrastructure, an evaluation of capacity relavative to anticipated growth, and provide recommended improvements in both collection and treatment systems to meet the demands expected to be imposed on the system over the next 20 years.
It is the intention of the Department of Utilities to secure professional engineering services to update the Wastewater Master Plan. The following provides a chronological order of events that have been completed in preparation of the development of an Interactive Master Plan:
> September 7, 2023: Request for Letters of Interest (RLI) 2024-02 for the North Port Wastewater Master Plan Project was issued to the eight firms under Category 1 of Continuing Contract 2020-58 to secure professional engineering services to design, bid and provide construction phase services for the Project.
> October 18, 2023: Four (4) Letters of Interest were received and evaluated.
> October 30, 2023: CDM Smith, Inc. was selected to proceed with development of a scope and fee schedule.
