Recommended Action

Approve Contract No. 2022-36 for Construction Manager at Risk Preconstruction Services Contract with Ajax Building Company, LLC, in the amount not to exceed $30,790.00 for Public Works Facility Phase II.

Background Information

Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 2022-36 was opened on September 14, 2022. Four bidders, Ajax Building Company, LLC, Halfacre Construction Company, Wharton-Smith, Inc., and Willis Smith Construction responded. Ajax Building Company, LLC was selected as the responsible bidder.

This Contract includes Construction Manager at Risk Preconstruction Services, Phase I for the Public Works Facility Phase II.

The current Public Works Facility Phase I was completed in 2012 with construction of the Fleet/Administration building and parking areas. The existing modular buildings that house the Facilities Maintenance Division and Solid Waste Division staff, and additional stormwater and parking areas would be constructed on the current site. New personnel and storage buildings would be constructed on the Road and Drainage District property east of the current Phase I facility.

Contract No. 2022-36 has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
