Recommended Action

Approve Eighth Amendment to Agreement No. 2015-19, Professional Engineering Services for the Widening of Price Boulevard, from Sumter Boulevard to Toledo Blade Boulevard to Consor Engineers, LLC (previously American Consulting Engineers of Florida, LLC) in the amount of $218,988.00.

Background Information

On September 28, 2015, the City of North Port entered into Agreement No. 2015-19 with American Consulting Engineers of Florida, LLC for professional engineering services to design and produce plans for the Price Boulevard Widening Project.

Amendment Six to Agreement No. 2015-19, approved by City Commission on January 24, 2023, added to the scope of work the design of a replacement for the bridge carrying Price Boulevard over the Myakkahatchee Creek. The design for this bridge is currently in progress. However, the current design limits leave an approximately 1,500-foot gap of two-lane road between the four-lane bridge and the four-lane intersection of Price Boulevard at Sumter Boulevard. This eighth amendment expands the scope of the project to complete the road and drainage design for this gap, resulting in a more efficient design process and the ability to utilize the full four-lane capacity of the replacement bridge. Upon completion of the Price Boulevard widening project, Price Boulevard will have a continuous four-lane section between the Myakkahatchee Creek and Toledo Blade Boulevard.

The cost of the additional work is $218,988.00. This amendment will only affect the Myakkahatchee Creek bridge portion of the design and will have no impact to the timeline of the widening of Price Boulevard...
