Recommended Action

Approve the Community Development Block Grant Sub-Recipient Agreement, Contract Number B-23-UC-12-0014, between Sarasota County, Florida, and the City of North Port, Florida, in the amount of $55,000 to fund staff salaries in the Social Services Division, and authorize the City Manager or the Mayor, as applicable under the City Charter, to execute all funding documents after legal review.

Background Information

The Sub-Recipient Agreement will provide the City of North Port with $55,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, to be utilized for caseworker salaries in the Social Services Division. Staff are located at the Family Service Center and provide assistance to low-income families and individuals who reside in North Port.

This is the fourteenth year the City has received CDBG funding to offset staffing expenses associated with connecting services to low-income families and individuals.

The Community Development Block Grant Sub-Recipient Agreement, Contract Number B-23-UC-12-0014, between Sarasota County, Florida, and the City of North Port, Florida, has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
