TITLE: Approve Work Assignment 2022-03 with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., in the Amount of $239,882.64, for Professional Engineering Services for the Myakkahatchee Creek Surface Water Treatment Plant Intake Structures Repairs, Renovations and/or Upgrades Project.


Recommended Action

Approve Work Assignment 2022-03 with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., for $239,882.64, for the Myakkahatchee Creek Surface Water Treatment Plant Intake Structures Repairs, Renovations and/or Upgrades Project.

Background Information

The Department of Utilities budgeted to rehabilitate the raw water intake structures on the Myakkahatchee Creek and the Cocoplum Waterway.

> February 10, 2022: Request for Letters of Interest (RLI) 2022-03 was issued to the eight firms under Category 1 of Continuing Contract 2020-58 to secure professional engineering services to design, bid, and provide construction phase services for the rehab of the structures.

> March 11, 2022: Three Letters of Interest were received, and staff evaluated each based on the following:

* Understanding of project/deliverables
* Expertise/qualifications of personnel
* Availability of personnel/timeline
* Evaluations/experience on utility projects
* Proposed cost saving measures and
* References/required forms

> March 21, 2022: Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., was selected to proceed with the development of a scope and fee schedule.

After careful review of the scope and fee by staff, the Department of Utilities recommends that Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. be awarded the Work Assignment for this project in the amount of $239,882.64.
