Recommended Action

Approval of the Agreement Between Imagine School at North Port, Inc. (ISNP) and the City of North Port for the School Resource Officer Program, with the City receiving $146,860.05 from ISNP.

Background Information

The City of North Port has been providing law enforcement services to the Elementary School as well as Middle and High School (Upper) Campuses for ISNP in North Port since the 2018-2019 school year. The proposed revenue driven agreement will be the fifth renewal with ISNP for continuing law enforcement services, beginning July 01, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023.

The Chief of the City of North Port Police Department along with input from ISNP staff, has assigned two School Resource Officers (SROs) to ISNP. One SRO will be assigned to ISNP Elementary Campus and one SRO to ISNP Upper Campus.

ISNP agrees to pay a fee of $146,860.05 as its share of the SRO officers for ISNP Elementary and Upper Campuses for the twelve-month period beginning July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.

The proposed agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney’s Office and is approved as to form and correctness.

Strategic Plan

Maintain the adopted level of health and public safety services.

Financial Impact

The amount of $146,860.05 will be paid to the City of North Port from ISNP in 12 equal monthly installments beginning July 1, 2022, prorated for the period of time needed for selection and placement of SRO’s at ISNP.
