Recommended Action

 

Approve the Community Development Block Grant Sub-Recipient Agreement between Sarasota County, Florida and the City of North Port, Florida in the amount of $54,000.

 

Background Information

 

The sub-recipient agreement will provide the City of North Port with $54,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, to be utilized for caseworker salaries in the Social Services Division. The staff is located at the Family Service Center and provides assistance to low income North Port families and individuals.

 

This is the tenth year the City has received CDBG funding to offset staffing expenses associated with direct services to low income families and individuals.

 

The agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney’s Office.

Financial Impact

 

This is a reimbursement grant, monthly requests for salary reimbursements are submitted, as outlined in the grant award, and the total reimbursement for this grant will not exceed $54,000 and is retroactive to October 1, 2019.
