Recommended Action

Appoint Nicholas Worden as the Financial Services Representative on the Community Economic Development Advisory Board.

Background Information

Currently there is a Financial Services Representative who was appointed on September 24, 2019, leaving only five (5) members on the Board.  Ordinance No. 2014-11 (establishing the Board) calls for 11 Members and designates the categories that the Board Members would represent but does not specify only one (1) member per category.   Mr. Worden served two (2) terms on the Board with his last term ending September 13, 2018.  According to Ordinance No. 2014-07 Sec. 4-3 (F) “…Service is limited to two consecutive terms, but a former board member may reapply for the same board after an absence on one year….”. While serving on the Board, Mr. Worden served as Chair and his attendance was excellent. Mr. Worden has been a resident of North Port for fourteen (14) years and serves on no other Boards or Committees with the City.  The vacancies for the Board have been announced as required.
