TITLE: Proclamation for National Home-Based Business Week October 6th through 13th, 2019
Recommended Action
Proclaim October 6 through 13, 2019 as National Home-Based Business Week in the City of North Port.
Background Information
Two out of three companies of all sizes begin in a bedroom, garage or even a closet; 52 percent of small businesses are home-based businesses; and 70 percent of home-based businesses are successful within three years of founding.
The City recognizes the great value of home-based businesses as many will grow, move to commercial sites and hire more workers. There are hundreds of residents from all walks of life who own and operate home-based businesses in North Port. Many of the community’s most successful businesses began in homes and home-based businesses represent a large part of the future of economic development in North Port.
The National Home-Based Business Week Proclamation will be presented to the City of North Port Economic Development Division.
