TITLE: Report on the installation of Sandhill Crane Area signs at six locations on Panacea Boulevard for a total cost of $900

Background Information
On February 7, 2019, the City Commission directed staff to work with North Port Friends of Wildlife to install Sandhill Crane Area signs. Additionally, the Commission requested that results be brought back to Commission for accountability purposes.
Pursuant to the Commission’s directive, the following actions have been taken by staff pertinent to the Sandhill Crane Area signs:
Ø Juliana B. Bellia, Director and Chuck Speake, Operations and Maintenance Manager, Department of Public Works met with Ms. Barbara Lockhart, North Port Friends of Wildlife. At the conclusion of the meeting, six locations on Panacea Boulevard were identified to locate the Sandhill Crane signs. The locations of the signs are based upon the sighting of Sandhill Cranes.
Ø A cost analysis performed by staff revealed that the total cost to purchase and install six signs is $900. Note: Includes six hours of labor for sign installation by Operations and Maintenance Division of the Department of Public Works staff.
Ø Mr. Speake is currently procuring six Sandhill Crane Area signs.
