Recognition of the City of North Port and the General Services Department for receipt of two (2) Florida Festival & Events SUNsational awards and the 3CMA Silver Circle Savvy Award.
Background Information
In August 2018, the City of North Port and the General Services Department was recognized by the Florida Festival & Events Association at its annual SUNsational Awards Luncheon. This program recognizes innovation, individuality and creative collaboration. In 2018, more than 400 submissions were received with approximately 40 organizations and individuals honored. The General Services Department accepted SUNsational awards for the following:
• Second Place for the annual Trick or Treat at City Hall event in the Volunteer category
• Second Place for the 2017 Summer North Port Rocks Campaign in the Community Outreach category
In September 2018, the City of North Port and the General Services Department was once again recognized, this time by the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA). The Department accepted a Silver Circle in the Savvy Award program in the Communications Plan category. This national award program had 740 entries in 71 different categories. The City of North Port was among 104 agencies who were honored with an award at the September annual conference.
