TITLE: Agreement No. 2017-02 with Buccaneer Landscape Management Corporation for landscape and turf maintenance services for an estimated total annual amount of $479,890.20.
Recommended Action
Approve Agreement No. 2017-02 with Buccaneer Landscape Management Corporation for landscape and turf maintenance services for an estimated total annual amount of $479,890.20.
Background Information
In October 2016, Request for Proposal No. 2017-02 for Landscape and Turf Maintenance Services was issued. Six (6) proposals were received and ranked, with Buccaneer Landscape Management Corporation coming out the top ranked firm.
The agreement will consist of landscape and turf maintenance for the following:
• Median strips and rights-of-way located on Sumter Boulevard from just south of I-75 south to U.S. 41.
• Median strips and rights-of-way located on Toledo Blade Boulevard from just south of I-75 south to Hillsborough.
• Median strips on U.S. 41 from the Charlotte County Line to Talon Bay Drive, the northern side of the U.S. 41 right of way from the Charlotte County line to Salford Boulevard, and the eastern side of the Salford Boulevard right of way from U.S. 41 to the Cocoplum Waterway.
• Five (5) landscaped SCAT Bus Stops on U.S. 41 at Bolander Terrace, Tuscola, Almonte Terrace, Biscayne Drive, and Grobe Street.
• Western side right-of-way located on North Port Boulevard from Greenwood Avenue to Appomattox Drive.
• Median strips on Biscayne Drive from Elyton Drive to the Myakkahatchee Creek the eastern side of the Biscayne Drive right of way from East Hyde Park Avenue to East Sydney Avenue. (Due to construction, services in the first year of the agreement are not expected to commence until June 1, 2017. Normal services will resume thereafter.)
• Median strips and rights-of-way located on Talon Bay Drive from U.S. 41 to the Talon Bay Gate.
• Right-of-way areas in front of undeveloped properties on the north and south sides of Price Boulevard, beginning at Creighton Waterway and ending at Sumter Boulevard.
The estimated total annual agreement amount is $479,890.20 but will be less the first year, FY2017, due to services on Biscayne Drive not starting until June 1, 2017, as a result of Biscayne Drive landscape improvements.
The agreement term is from February 1, 2017, through and including January 31, 2020, and may be renewed at the same unit prices, terms, and conditions for two (2) additional one-year terms by mutual agreement. The City Attorney has approved to form and content.
