TITLE:                                          Murals for the Community Education Center

Recommended Action

To permit the volunteer to paint a mural on the side of the Community Educational Center which provides the entrance to the Salvation Army Center, and two murals on the backside of the building where the seniors enter the Senior Center.

Background Information

Deeanna Atkinson has painted murals on public buildings regionally, as well as locally, painting murals for the Gene Matthews B&G Club.  She has volunteer her time and talent, if the City pays for the paint needed for the murals.  The exterior of the Community Educational Center was recently cleaned and painted beige, which would provide a perfect timing for the murals to be painted.  Mrs. Atkinson will provide her own tools and scaffolding.

These mural pictures were shown and approved by the Senior Center Board of Directors and the Art Advisory Board.  They were viewed by artists at the NP Art Center, also, and the feedback was extremely positive.
