TITLE: A seven-year preventive maintenance and repair service agreement with Stryker Medical, a division of Stryker Corporation, for North Port Fire Rescue's new stretcher lifting systems and stretchers at a FY 2017-18 budgeted cost of $26,300.

Recommended Action

Approve a seven-year preventive maintenance and repair service agreement with Stryker Medical, a division of Stryker Corporation, for North Port Fire Rescue's new stretcher lifting systems and stretchers at a FY 2017-18 budgeted cost of $26,300.

Background Information

In 2017, Commission approved the purchase of two replacement ambulances from REV RTC, LLC which included the new Stryker Power-Load stretcher lifting systems. Under a separate purchase order, four replacement Stryker Power-Pro XT stretchers (to replace the last of the original power stretchers) were purchased directly from the manufacturer, Stryker Medical (a division of Stryker Corporation). To maximize operational cost savings and ensure sufficient long-term coverage for preventive maintenance and repairs, we are requesting approval for a seven-year service agreement with Stryker Medical. Each time a new piece of equipment is purchased, we must establish a new agreement.

The period of this agreement will run from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2025 - seven years - which is the recommended lifecycle for this equipment. A review of expenditures for repairs revealed the potential for operational cost savings for service calls (i.e., labor and travel), parts and no-cost battery exchanges.

The Agreement includes: (1) unlimited service calls; (2) replacement of pumps, hoses, electronics, etc.; and (3) one annual preventive maintenance inspection by Stryker Medical's "ProCare" field service team personnel. Full payment will be made on execution of this agreement - no further operational costs will be incurred except for non-cover...
