Background Information
Two members of the North Port Fire Department approached the Assistant City Manager, Danny Schult, regarding making a presentation to the City Commission regarding the Fire Department from their perspective. As the City and the Union are entering re-negotiations on the current contract, staff thought it would be a good idea to have this presentation prior to the commencement of those negotiations. This presentation is an effort to demonstrate the resolve that all parties are working together to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
