TITLE: Florida League of Cities Legislative Policy Committee Appointments
Recommended Action
Approve recommendation of appointments for Commissioners, if they desire to serve, to Florida League of Cities Legislative Policy Committees.
Background Information
The Florida Leagues of Cities is announcing the start of its legislative policy process for 2017-2018. The Florida Legislature convenes in March 2018. FLC Policy committees will commence in June 2017. The League is asking for participation on five legislative committees. No more than one elected official from each City can be on a committee.
The Legislative Policy Committees for 2017-2018 are the same as in 2016-2017. They are:
• Energy, Environment & Natural Resources
• Finance, Taxation & Personnel
• Growth Management & Economic Affairs
• Transportation and Intergovernmental Relations
• Urban Administration
There are three meeting dates for the 2017-2018 legislative policy committees. They are:
• June 15-16, 2017
• July 14, 2017
• August 17, 2017
