Appointment of two (2) Members to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board.
Background Information
There are currently two (2) vacancies on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and one vacancy has been announced at Commission Meetings from November 22, 2016 through April 11, 2017. The second vacancy has been announced at Commission Meetings from March 28, 2017 through April 11, 2017. The City Clerk’s Office has received two (2) applications and there are currently no other applications pending. The first applicant is Megan Worley. Ms. Worley has been a resident of the City of North Port for 12 years and is not currently serving on any other Board or Committee. The second applicant is Helen Marchese. Ms. Marchese first served as an Alternate on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board from December 8, 2014 to February 23, 2015 which was just 3 ½ months. When a Regular Member position became vacant she applied and was appointed as a Regular Member and just completed her first two-year term, which expired on February 23, 2017. Ms. Marchese has submitted her application and has expressed a desire to be appointed for a second term. Ms. Marchese’s attendance at meetings has been excellent. The applications for Ms. Worley and Ms. Marchese have been submitted for your review and consideration.
