TITLE: North Port Area Chamber of Commerce request to use Commission Chambers for two Candidate Forums
Recommended Action
Discuss and provide direction on the request from the North Port Area Chamber of Commerce.
Background Information
The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce has requested (request attached) use of City Hall and specifically the Commission Chambers for candidate forums.
This request would not be in keeping with our standard practice, but in case the Commission had a different policy direction it was added as an agenda item.
By saying yes to the Chamber of Commerce you may create the expectation of others wishing to hold such forums. In addition, there potentially would be minor staffing cost to the City since the events would be after normal operating hours.
