TITLE: Proclamation for Love Your Lawyer / City Attorney Day
Recommended Action
Approval and reading of proclamation designating November 2, 2018 as Love Your Lawyer / City Attorney Day.
Background Information
Love Your Lawyer Day was created in 2001 by attorney Nader Anise, ALPIA (American Lawyers Public Image Association) and is held the first Friday of each November with a campaign this year of “No Lawyer Bashing or Jokes for a Day” to be adhered to within the city.
Today’s laws are complicated and bring an increase of the importance of our legal professionals.
The City of North Port urges all members of our community to be aware of their comments regarding lawyers and look for ways to reach out to your City Attorney letting them know how much you appreciate their hard work they do every day.
The City Attorney, Amber Slayton and Assistant City Attorney, Michael Golen along with all members from the legal team will attend.
