Background Information
The Commission held a special meeting on April 3, 2017 to discuss proposed amendments to the City Charter. For purposes of the discussion, the Commission utilized a draft revised charter provided by a citizen, referred to as the "working document." The Commission discussed and reached consensus on revisions to Articles I and II. During the discussion of Article III, the Commission decided to expand the discussion of Section 3.01(2) in a future meeting. The Commission reached a consensus to continue the discussion of additional revisions to the City Charter.
The Commission held a special meeting on July 12, 2017 to continue its discussion of proposed amendments to the City Charter. The Commission discussed and reached consensus on revisions to Articles III through VIII. The Commission reached a consensus to schedule two additional meetings to continue the discussion of additional revisions to the City Charter.
Per the Commission's direction, the City Attorney utilized the "working document" and made revisions according to the Commission's direction at the April 3 and July 12, 2017 meetings.
