TITLE: Request for Bid No. 2018-64 for Concrete Flatwork to Gilliam Construction, LLC (Primary) and Sinclair Structural Corporation (Secondary) at the unit prices listed on the bid tabulation form.
Recommended Action
Approve Request for Bid No. 2018-64 for Concrete Flatwork to Gilliam Construction, LLC (Primary) and Sinclair Structural Corporation (Secondary) at the unit prices listed on the bid tabulation form.
Background Information
This is a multi-year contract for concrete flatwork service on an “as required” basis for various City Departments. The City may spend in excess of $100,000 for concrete flatwork services for sidewalk replacement/repairs, driveway replacement, etc. Two vendors were selected to perform these services, a primary and secondary vendor. The primary vendor will be contacted first for any upcoming work. If the primary vendor is unable to perform the work within the timeframe or due to other issues, the secondary vendor will be contacted and may be used.
On July 20, 2018, Request for Bids (RFB) No. 2018-64 for Concrete Flatwork was issued. Three (3) submittals were received in response to the solicitation. Staff reviewed and determined it would be in the best interest of the City to award the contract to Gilliam Construction, LLC (primary) and Sinclair Structural Corporation (secondary) as the lowest responsive, responsible bidders.
As permitted by Procurement Code, a purchase order will be issued upon award of this bid. The submitted Bid form signed by the Bidder, together with the complete bid package and any addenda furnished by the City and the purchase order, shall constitute a binding contract. The initial term of award is from the date of this approval for one (1) year, and may be renewed at the same unit prices, terms, and conditions for three (3) additional one-year terms by mutual agreement.
