TITLE:                                          Discussion of North Port Road and Drainage District Methodology

Recommended Action

To provide input and direction of the North Port Road and Drainage District Methodology.

Background Information

Ordinance Number 2014-01, amending Chapter 66, Road and Drainage District Article III, Section 66-52, enabling legislation for the Road and Drainage District, requires the methodology and rate studies be reviewed every four years. Staff recognized the need to revise the methodology and worked with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. on the Apportionment Methodology, Allocation, Sufficiency, Rates and Future Projections.

During the Road and Drainage District Governing Body Special Meeting/Budget Hearing on September 6, 2018, the Commission voted not to adopt the 2019 Methodology Study and to use the 2014 Study, and to bring back the 2019 Methodology Study at a Workshop within the next few months to evaluate and revise.  Accordingly, pursuant to the Commission’s direction, staff has scheduled a Commission Workshop on January 7, 2019, to discuss the North Port Road and Drainage District Methodology.
