Background Information
During their Regular Meeting held on July 10, 2018, the City Commission requested an updated estimate of the construction costs of the Price Boulevard Widening Project from Sumter Boulevard to Toledo Blade Boulevard. The sixty percent (60%) complete Design Plans for the Project, including the Engineer's Estimated Construction Cost were recently submitted for review by the Department of Public Works Engineering Division staff.
The following is the breakdown of the Engineer's Estimated Construction Cost:
Roadway Construction $12,100,000
Stormwater Drainage $ 4,530,000
Signalization $ 755,000
Roadway Lighting $ 3,305,000
Utilities $ 3,115,000
Mobilization $ 1,825,000
Maintenance of Traffic $ 3,075,000
Total $28,705,000
The Engineer's Estimated Construction Cost is based upon the acquisition of designated stormwater pond sites. If these stormwater pond sites are not acquired, other vacant lots will be evaluated for suitability. However, the number of vacant lots needed may increase and the amount of stormwater piping and structures necessary for transporting the stormwater to alternate stormwater pond sites will increase both in quantity and cost. As the Project's design is further developed, the construction cost estimate will be refined.
Other project costs include:
Design and Permitting $3,351,270
Land Acquisition $2,000,000
Construction Engineering and Inspection $4,310,000
Total $9,661,270
The current Capital Improvements Program allocates $40,347,320.00 for construction of the Price Boulevard Widening Project from Sumter Boulevard to Toledo Blade Boulevard. The City's Financial Consultant is working on funding options for the const...
