Recommended Action

 

Discussion and direction regarding presentation for the North Port Partnership for Creative Economies.

 

Background Information

 

At the January 8, 2019 Regular Commission Meeting, Mr. Rich Suggs made a second presentation to City Commission on the North Port Partnership for Creative Economies pertaining to economic development.  The Commission requested further information be brought back at a future meeting to address questions raised during the meeting including:

 

                     Provide a business plan

                     Provide a policy on how the partnership would work with the City

                     Provide primary categories for IRS consideration

                     Clarification of items contained in the January 8th presentation

                     Provide details of funding

                     Clarification on legality of City options of funding and a board seat

                     Identification of Board Members and if it is “pay to play”

                     Explain how this organization differs from a larger EDC

                     Demonstrate how this is not duplicative
