TITLE: Community Development Block Grant Subrecipient Agreement with Sarasota County for park enhancements at the Garden of the Five Senses Park
Recommended Action
Approval of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Subrecipient Agreement between Sarasota County and the City of North Port to fund ADA park enhancements at the Garden of the Five Senses Park in the amount of $350,000.
Background Information
The Subrecipient Agreement will provide the Parks and Recreation Department with $350,000 in CDBG funding to be utilized for ADA enhancements at the Garden of the Five Senses Park. The following enhancements that can be used by disabled individuals at the park are as follows:
• A flexi paved trail including lighting
• Accessible curb cuts in the parking lot; and
• ADA compliant improvements in the rest room facilities
The Subrecipient Agreement will be going to the Sarasota County Board of Commissioners on their January 29, 2019 meeting.
Following approval of the Subrecipient Agreement, the project will be constructed under the supervision of North Port staff and monitored by Sarasota County.

Financial Impact
This is a reimbursement grant and total reimbursement for this grant will not exceed $350,000. Funding must be used for design and construction services as defined in Section II of this agreement.
